Getting SmartCardHSM 4.0?

There is a new SmartCardHSM SIM-Card available out there - with version 4.0 it is now using flash memory instead of EEPROM and should apparently be faster.

Will Niktrokey HSM 2 be upgraded to use the new one? Is it possible to order SIM-cards only somewhere and replace them on my own? (not sure if cardomatic.de sells old or new ones now, the description doesn’t say).

As of today there is no plan to switch to version 4.0 in the short-term

Cannot Initialize new Nitrokey HSM - #11 by daringer confirms that SmartCard HSM 4.0 is now part of the newer Nitrokey HSMs out there.
