Access Nextbox when it's booting?

My nextbox currently does not leave the boot state (dimmed blue light). There was a double or maybe triple powercycle this morning, because of an electricity outage in my city…afterwards, it was up for maybe seven hours, and then around 15h, it went off. I could connect with SSH, saw that the docker containers were up, but still no connection. I then entered “reboot”, and since then, it does not move (have unplugged and replugged electricity once), and SSH also is not working anymore.

It may be stuck in a fs-check?!
How can I see what’s happening? Is there a possibility to connect a monitor and a keyboard, when opening the case maybe? Or maybe just some more patience, as it’s a lot of data/files to check?

Any pointers very welcome!

Hello have you tried to do a soft reset?

additionally if you have ssh access you could retrieve the logs so you can have more hints about what’s wrong.

Thank you. I just tried soft reset, but to me it looks as this can only be done in green LED status - for me, with dimmed blue, nothing happens.

And, I forgot: Since the reboot, SSH is not working anymore! Probably as it’s stuck somewhere in early booting.

It should be possible too. Do you see any LED color change when you press the hardware button?

When you press it you should have a blue color instead of the dimmed blue.

Do you have any important data in your NB?

no LED change at all. Yes, important data (the inevitable question, arf). But I have a one week old backup, done with the nextbox app…but as everybody, I would prefer not to.

Okay, then you should backup this data. You can do that by manually plugging the internal drive to a computer and copying the /srv folder.

Once the data is safe you can perform a factory reset:

If the LED never goes bleu, it will not enter factory reset either? I’ll contact support. Thanks for the backup tip using the internal drive, will do this next. It is how it is…

If the factory reset is not working then I would recommend you to flash the SD card with this image:
