Nextbox in maintenance mode - finding the reason?

Hey folks,

my nextbox went into maintenance mode - i dunno why. How can i find out? SSH access still works.
And beside the reason: is there a way to get out maintenance mode except pushing the hw button shortly?

Yes it seems like an app is messing with the update.

You can either do a soft reset has @nku said or push the hardware button once has explained at the end (before the hint) of this docu:

Doing the soft-reset does the trick so far - it seems that nextcloud hub was updated, whether it is the origin of that problem i dunno

what do you mean with led code? it simply goes purple and sticks to that color ^^

Which update?
After the reset I get the request to update to v. 29.0.7. no other alternative.
Since Nitrokey advises against updates: should I activate this?
I regularly have such problems with the maintanence of the Nextbox without being told what to do. It’s kind of frustrating.

No.

  • the Nextbox “admin” app does all the updates for you WHEN they are compatible with it, automatically
  • if you check the applications compatibility (which you should ALWAYS do before a manual upgrade when in an ordinary Nextbox implementation) you’ll see that the Nextbox admin app is presently NOT compatible with the latest Nextcloud upgrade (which is currently 29.0.9).

So, no, don’t lauch the upgrading. You would at best loose all Nextbox specificities, and at worst just crash the Nextbox. Leave it to the Nextbox app.
