Nitro.chat matrix server is inaccessible again

Since at least 10 hours (Thursday, 15 September 2022 CEST 0:05) the nitro.chat matrix server is not available any more.

The Webinterface at https://app.nitro.chat/#/login throws the following error:
“Cannot reach homeserver
Ensure you have a stable internet connection, or get in touch with the server admin”

https://nitro.chat/_matrix/client/versions displays: “502 Bad Gateway”

When will this be fixed?

Hey! Someone should be working on it right now. No ETA yet, but this kind of break is unusual.

It seems to now be working again for me.

@szszszsz Can you tell me why my to previous posts (4364 and 4402) are suddenly flagged by the community as spam? They were not altered since week(s)!
I strongly assume it was automatically flagged because I posted the same URL in both posts. But both are nitro.chat URL!

  2. I do not know, but I see they are quite similar to each other and hence I guess they must have been taken down by the anti-spam bot by looking at the similarity measure.

Here is the message from the system:

This new user tried to create multiple posts with links to the same domain. All posts from this user that include links should be reviewed.

Let’s just use this single topic for the updates like that, instead of multiple ones.

So I guessed correctly that the spam bot is triggered by “multiple posts with links to the same domain”.

  1. Will this not happen if I post the links again under this same topic? I guess we’ll see that. If it does I will simply not post URL anymore.
  2. Why not add an detection exception for nitro.chat domains?
  3. How can I unflag my previous posts? Or can you do that?
