Hi Team,
I have not updated my Nitrokeys in a while because as far as I know the Nitrokey 2 App was not easily compatible with QubesOS. I read that it should work now since a few months ago.
So I created an AppVM based on Fedora 41 installed the Nitrokey App 2 via Flathub in the user space and connected the Nitrokey 3 to that VM.
The app sees my Nitrokey and it has currently the Firmware 1.6.0 installed. Init status is ok.
I tried to update it but after a while it says Nitrokey 3 update failed.
Any help or ideas? Not sure where to see the logs.
Hey can you try updating through the nitropy cli ? its not too difficult to updated through it .
I also had issues in updating the nk3 using the nitrokey app 2 in the earlier release. I don’t see nitrokey app 2 have an update since last 4-5 months, so not sure if it got fixed.
But nitropy cli should surely work.
It would be good though to send them logs for this error and open a github issue for it. i’ll try to see where exactly are the logs stored.
okay , so it might be related to udev rules not being installed properly. (as also indicated by similar reports)
I think i have fixed this issue after installing the udev .
Follow the docs stepwise for this please Linux Install - Nitrokey Documentation
