Nitrokey3C NFC - no Blue LED on connection to USB

Hello,

When inserting a Nitrokey3C NFC into a USB port, a blue led should blink once.

What is wrong with the Nitrokey if this isn’t the case at all?
Other (100+) Nitrokey3C work just fine on this Debian (12.10) machine.
Commands like lsusb or dmesg do not show any sign of life.
The usual gpg --card-status fails and reports no device found.
Using nitropy nk3 doesn’t react either.

Is this new Nitrokey3C NFC ‘dead on arrival’?

Any help appreciated. Thanks for your advice.

Daniel

If you test with another Nitrokey 3C NFC under identical conditions (same cable, USB port, and OS) and one functions while the other does not work, a hardware defect is likely. You should mail support@nitrokey.com with your order number to get this sorted out.
