Hello!
I tried several times to upgrade to Qubes 4.3 from 4.2, both in-place and via USB (both dd and etcher made Installation USB device). The in-place update stopped “unexpected issue” and for the installation device method the usb-device is never found.
Could it be a problem caused by the BIOS version? Currently i run on Heads 2.4.1.
Other rumoers that i heard to make upgrades finish successfully :
- remove older templates and vms
- On non heads devices: disable secure boot/bios security chip
Does anyone have any idea? I would be happy to hear your experiences.
Hello, do you have access to a more verbose error log? That will be helpful.
Otherwise yes I would suggest to update your Heads to the latest available release.
You can follow this guide:
Hello, no sorry, i did not safe the actual error logs.
However I did found a comment somewhere that i should try and update the templates first. I had a Debian template that was still supported but below the version that 4.3 is shipping with. I assume that did the trick as the in-place update was succesful after this point and i didn’t change anything else.
Meaby that is oft interest.
Thanks for reaching out!
All the best,
