Possible to use Nitrokey without app?

Hi there,

If i remove the Nitrokey letters from the usb stick - If the app is on my laptop anyone can see that i may have a hidden volume on that usb.

So - i couldnt find an answer to this question:
Is it possible to use a Nitrokey (in my case Storage 2 on linux) without the app? With terminal commands maybe?

The Nitrokey Storage has different functions that also work outside of the Nitrokey App. E.g. the pgp card can be used with gpg.

For unlocking the storage, always an app v1 is required but there is also an older CLI. You can make the unencrypted partition read/write and e.g. add this app to it, so you can run it without installing. After modifications, you make it readonly again.
