Routing with nitrophone

Any thoughts on making a build of Graphene to support firewall and VPN connections for tethered devices? (Possibly replacing something like nitrowall)? Mobile phone in theory would work just fine as a travel router/firewall, and has some advantages compared to a traditional travel router (familiarity, out of band management via screen, tpm, more frequent and common security patches, easier to set up monitoring and pseudo-virtualization/out of memory secrets via graphene user profiles etc., app sandboxing etc.)
