Simulating touch for user presence

I have several NK3 mini and NK passkeys at use for both authentication and disk encryption through the hmac-secret extension.

Since Firmware version 1.8.2 the hmac-secret extension now requires user presence as specified by the CTAP protocol. This breaks any unattended disk encryption setup and requires to touch the authenticator at every use, even when the PIN is entered.

The nk3 mini has a pretty simple metal sensor for its touch feature, so Im wondering how it would be possible to simulate the tough and thereby disable this feature. To be clear, I dont want to touch the authenticator, ever!
Im assuming this is a capacitive sensor?
What could one use to trigger this sensor permanetly?

Found a solution:

It is possible to permanently activate the sensor by soldering a piece of metal onto the metal sensor of the nk3 mini
The piece needs to be sufficiently large, I tested this with a thin wire soldered to a screw.

Now the touch sensor is always activated and I can use the token without ever having to touch the thing, which is just how it works on phones anyway, where a single fingerprint is enough for some reason.

Having the choice to use touch as additional factor for rare high security needs would have been great, but apparently that isn’t possible anymore.
