[SOLVED] Nitrokey HSM 2: perform forced update

Hello community,

I remember from the past, that there exists the possibility to perform a forced update of the HSM.
Unfortunately I never wrote it down and forgot it over the years.

Is somebody aware how to perform a forced update of the HSM 2?
It would be update version 3.6.

Background: I found an old HSM 2 with unknown SO-PIN in my drawer I want to reset. In the past I once did it via a forced update. The User-PIN is known and is sufficient to perform an update.

Forced update is possible, if the retry counter for the SO-PIN has reached 0.

Just try at least 15 initialization attempts with the wrong SO-PIN.
