Upgrade Nitrokey 1.8.1 -> 1.8.2: Not enough space on the internal filesystem to perform the firmware update

Hallo,

I tried to upgrade the NK3 NFC from 1.8.1 to 1.8.2. I get the following error

Critical error:
Not enough space on the internal filesystem to perform the firmware update. See the release notes for more information: Release v1.8.2-test.20250312 · Nitrokey/nitrokey-3-firmware · GitHub
To ignore this warning and install the update at your own risk, set the --ignore-warning ifs-migration-v2 option.

Unfortunately, I do not find any information under link what this means and what could happen if I set ignore-warning

Why would the internal storage be unable to do an update?

Do you have any documentation related to this?

Why do you not take regular edition?

I took the regular edition… This was a simple

nitropy nk3 update

I finally did the update by using the option: --ignore-warning ifs-migration-v2

I have backup keys registered/configured, so I risked it. So far it seems to work, but I will do some further tests before updating the other keys.

I do not recommend to use this option if you do not have backup keys registered/configured, because it is nowhere documented was this warning and the option mean.
