Which Nitrokeys support the internal Password Manager for up to 16 passwords?

Only Nitrokey Pro 2 (Nitrokey_Pro_factsheet.pdf) and Nitrokey Storage 2 mention this specifically in their “Technical Details”: Password manager: 16 entries

Password Manager
Securely store your passwords encrypted in the integrated password manager. This allows you to keep your passwords with you at all times and keep them protected even if the Nitrokey is lost.

The sentence “This allows you to keep your passwords with you at all times and keep them protected even if the Nitrokey is lost.” is not so clear to me and I am unsure about what I found in the limited documentation.

  • If up to 16 passwords are physically stored on one Nitrokey and the Nitrokey is lost, how exactly are they protected? Are they stored in the secure element? Are they protected with a PIN?

The main comparison page shows the Password Manager feature for Nitrokey 3, but this is not clearly confirmed anywhere else. There are posts here which claim that the feature is still missing, and it is not listed in the Nitrokey 3 Technical Details (shop page).

  • Does Nitrokey 3 currently have the ability to store 16 (or more) passwords on the key? (I am not referring to the KeePassXC compatible Challenge-Response secret)

  • Is this feature currently implemented in the Nitrokey App 2 for Nitrokey 3 as possibly described here?

  • When will the Nitrokey App 2 be available on macOS?

Yes, it is available and allows much more credentials to store. See here for details.

Yes, see above. Available to nitropy and Nitrokey App 2

Not available right now. @sosthene-nitrokey any ETA, yet?

Excellent! So the trussed-secrets-app is integrated into nitropy and Nitrokey App 2

Well, while waiting for the macOS version, at least the commandline nitropy runs on macOS and I hope, that Nitrokey App 2 would work via Parallels on Linux.
