Procedure fpr re-creating remote access

Hello!

Since I acquired NextBox it was running very smoothly, but Let’sEncrypt certificate was issued by the end of April and expired on July 26th which I noticed after not being able to access our storage used by our non-profit organization.

We have >80GB of recordwed audio/video material and many accounts of our members, so I would like to be able to preserve those and not do factory reset…

The setup is using dynamic DNS (there was no Guided Dynamic DNS option then) and IP is updated by using ddclient on my openSUSE Tumbleweed machine.

Tried many things - disabling/enabling TLS, creating new token @deSec. Finally I tried to remove my domain and create a new one and figured that due to new deSec’s policy it is not longer allowed to create domains…

By inspecting logs I figured out that “renewal procedure was not started” and after browsing through archives I found a post, but did not dare to " delete (backup) contents of /srv/letsencrypt (to make sure a new certificate will be acquired)" not being sure whether the whole subfolder tree is supposed to be wiped.

Now, I’d like to know what would be the correct procedure to start remote access configuration ([Guided Dynamic DNS) from the scratch, iow. to remove old non-working instance/reference to my now non-existing deSec domain and create a new one, but without the need for factory reset?

Sincerely,
Saša
